The first full-fledged sequel is just around the corner, as the first-party PlayStation studio is close to bringing the Marvel icon’s next story to life. In the latest adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, teenager Miles Morales is adjusting to his new home while following in the footsteps of his mentor, Peter Parker, as a new Spider-Man. Here’s everything we know about Spider-Man 2, from story details to the confirmed release date. As of the PC release of Spider-Man 2 in 2025, these DLC suits are free for all players on both PS5 and PC. A series of open-world action adventure games about one of Marvel’s most famous superheroes. Insomniac Games studio, which also has in its portfolio such titles as Ratchet & Clank or the first three installments of the series Spyro the Dragon. Each and every suit will reportedly feature a ‘symbiote variant version’ according to FandomWire. This could see our heroes using Venom’s symbiote powers to their advantage.
Aurantia Suit – Peter
You’ll regularly be stopping the same getaways with the same few button presses (the button-mashing from previous games is mercifully largely gone) or stopping a break-in by battering the same few goons. Spider-Man 2, and to an extent all great Spider-Man stories, tackle themes of adolescence and puberty – a time of uncertainty for even the most normal of teenagers trying to control bodily fluids. We join Miles at this exact point in his life, with family ties straining, friendships facing fresh challenges, and life decisions of genuine importance being posed for the first time. Actor Nadji Jeter displays all the range needed for the role, continuing to excel as a younger Spider-Man maturing before our eyes. He’s in his early twenties so has already navigated the difficult years that Miles finds himself in, but thanks to the symbiote suit, he’s working his way through yet more bodily changes.
Agimat Suit – Miles
On the whole it’s a tried and true set-up for a Spider-Man story—the perils of leading a double life, making sacrifices to do the right thing, all that jazz. But that does also mean it’s a story we’ve seen an awful lot of times before, not only across films, TV, and comics, but also in the previous two games in this series. Each game in the series has a main villain that is set up early in the game, and persists to the end.
He’s been so focused on other things; he hasn’t had time to think about the future. There are plenty of directions he could go but trying to pick the ‘right’ one is overwhelming and paralyzing. But when a fierce power struggle threatens to destroy his new home, the aspiring hero realizes that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. To save all of Marvel’s New York, Miles must take up the mantle of Spider-Man and own it.
Evolved Suit – Miles
As Peter and Miles attempt to stop Venom, Peter is debilitated by a trace amount of the symbiote still within him. After Miles settles his differences with Li, the latter uses his powers to convert Peter’s symbiote traces into the Anti-Venom symbiote, which can destroy other symbiotes. Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York. Peter and Miles distract Venom while Mary Jane steals the meteorite and destroys it with the EMF’s particle accelerator, destroying Venom’s symbiote horde.
You must then fly through the green rings to get a speed boost, fly from one Wind Tunnel to the next to stay in midair until you reach Astoria district. Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb. Meanwhile, Otto obsesses over creating enhanced limbs that exceed the human body’s limitations, creating four mechanical tentacles operated from his back and mentally controlled via a neural interface. He reveals to Peter that he is suffering from a neuromuscular disease that will inevitably immobilize him and that enhanced limbs will allow him to continue his work when his body fails.
A visual feast that works in tandem with the VENOMVERSE comics, dive into the murky world of the most notorious alien symbiote in the Marvel Universe with Edge of Venomverse. To their credit, the way you can highlight side objectives by pressing the right stick is a welcome upgrade over mere icons on a map. Even without that, you can spot ominous clouds or glowing purple rooftops with the bare eye signaling activities are there to be found. This isn’t a world that beckons exploration or discovery, necessarily, but it is a step in the right direction toward creating greater immersion and mercifully less time spent looking at the map screen.
